Sharondale Farm, a permaculture project at the base of the central Virginia’s Southwest Mountains, integrates mushrooms, perennial plants, and animals into the gardens and hardwood forest. The goal is to optimize the diversity of this small farm system to yield food, medicine, flowers, building materials, compost, and a deeper understanding of a local, sustainable production system. Sharondale sells mushrooms and useful plants; in addition, you will find tools and resources for mushroom growing and workshops on cultivation methods.
